Falcon Support Services receives a helping hand from The Screwfix Foundation

Falcon Support Services, based in Loughborough, is celebrating after being awarded £3,500 worth of funding from The Screwfix Foundation, a charity which supports projects to fix, repair, maintain and improve properties and facilities for those in need.

Sarah Whannell, Project Manager from Falcon Support Services said: “We are very grateful to The Screwfix Foundation for donating these much-needed funds to support our charity.

“Falcon Support Services is a registered charity with the mission to help people to live independently and positively contribute to their community. We always seek to promote the dignity of these people by providing high quality, stable, supportive environments and accommodation during their transition into independence.

The funding will be used to assist with the refurbishment costs of service users’ bedrooms, improving the quality of their environments. We’d like to thank everyone who was involved in the fundraising – it’s been a great help to us.”

Joanne Kaye, Store Manager of the Screwfix store in Loughborough, comments: “We’re so happy that one of our local charities has been awarded funding by The Screwfix Foundation.

“Screwfix customers and staff are the driving force behind the Foundation, and without their generous donations, it wouldn’t be possible to support so many charities like Falcon Support Services.”

The Screwfix Foundation, which launched in April 2013 donates much needed funding to help a variety of local projects throughout the UK, from repairing buildings and improving community facilities, to improving the homes of people living with sickness or disability.

It also works closely with two national charity partners, Barnardo’s children’s charity and Macmillan Cancer Support, as well as supporting smaller, local registered charities like Falcon Support Services.

Relevant projects from across Leicestershire are invited to apply online for a share of the funding at screwfixfoundation.com.
