LAP electrical range now available from Screwfix with 100% recyclable packaging

The LAP electrical range of switches and sockets exclusively available from Screwfix now features new 100% recyclable packaging.

The new packaging is part of a sustainability drive by the retailer designed to provide tradespeople with great quality, affordable, and sustainable products.

Starting with the new range of 120 switches and sockets and soon to include the lighting range, not only is the new packaging 100% recyclable and plastic-free, but it also uses sustainably sourced paper and board – containing a minimum of 50% post-consumer recycled fibre*.  This is alongside water-based inks and varnishes, which do not affect the recycling processes, and a vegetable-based adhesive which is biodegradable.

LAP switches and socket packaging can be fully recycled using standard kerbside recycling schemes and is completely free of plastic, making it easier for customers to avoid sending any waste to landfill, in line with the Screwfix objective of achieving zero waste to landfill from company activities.

Matt Compton, Screwfix Trading Director, commented: “As we work to accelerate our sustainability strategy, the work to improve our LAP packaging range is a fantastic step forward on our sustainability journey. We recognise there is still work to be done and our strategy will lead to further improvements in the sustainability of our products, packaging and operational activities, which will in turn help us to achieve our responsible business ambitions.”
