Owen Creaser-Smith
“I am feeling both a mixture of excitement and nerves to have made it through to the final. It would be fantastic to win the competition and I feel that making it through to this stage has really helped me to push myself out of my comfort zone.”
Oliver Greaves
I enjoy everything about my apprenticeship, I love how every day is different and like the challenges my role brings. I am really looking forward to the final and knowing I could be this year’s winner is quite unbelievable. The whole experience has been amazing.”
Matthew Hill
“To potentially win the competition is an incredible thought, but to come this far is just as much of an achievement in itself. I have recently taken part in a social media campaign about mental health awareness and the importance of breaking the stigma in the construction industry. If I win the competition, I will use the prize to learn new skills and further my work in mental health awareness.”
Marcus Piper
If I were to win the title of Screwfix Trade Apprentice 2020 I would like to go on and further my knowledge within the plumbing and heating industry, such as renewable energy. I also want to inspire other young people with additional needs to apply for an apprenticeship and not let their disability be a barrier to fulfilling their dreams.”
Kyle Hall
“I decided to go into the trade industry because I wanted to provide a better life for myself and my family. I am delighted to be in the top 10, I never expected to get this far in the competition. If I win, I will use the title as a platform to encourage others into the construction industry and to show the importance of apprenticeships.”
Isabella Stagg
“I started off in the plumbing industry by chance through a family member and I ended up falling in love with the job. I don’t think there’s much I don’t like about being a plumber, you get to learn something new every day and help those in need. I am feeling a little nervous about the final but the thought of potentially winning is unbelievable.”
Elliott Hanan
“Being creative and learning every day is what life is all about and nothing makes me happier than seeing the look on customers faces when they are pleased with the end result. I am truly honoured to have made it this far in the competition.”
Beth Skinner
“If I were to win Screwfix Trade apprentice 2020 I would do everything I can to promote the bricklaying trade and the construction industry to young people.  I love walking away each day knowing that I have achieved something, that I’ve laughed a lot and that I get to do it all over again tomorrow.”
Olivia Parkin
“I am really excited about the final and potentially winning; not just for me but for all the women out there to see a female tradesperson making it to the final and potentially being crowned this year’s winner. I hope to inspire anyone looking to join the trade industry. I plan to specialise in renewable energy and would love to run my own business in the future. Winning this competition would give me an amazing boost to start this journey.”
Chris Keel
I am really proud to have made it to the final of this years competition. If I were to be crowned Screwfix Trade Apprentice 2020 I would use the title to show the importance of apprenticeships and how they really can change your life for the better.”
