Screwfix partners with Yeovil College to boost construction facilities.

Screwfix are delighted to partner with Yeovil College and officially open the Construction facility on Mudford Road.

Through this new purpose-built building, the Screwfix Trade Skills Centre, Yeovil College can now offer two state-of-the-art work training areas, which have been designed to enable the College to meet the needs of its local and regional employers within the sector.

The building will also host the brand new employer-sponsored school Academies. The construction Academy sponsored by Screwfix will cover both construction management and craft skills for year 10 and 11 pupils and aims to educate young people about a successful future before leaving school.

Pupils from Buckler’s Mead Academy, Stanchester Academy, Wadham School and Westfield Academy will participate in employer led masterclasses, operating specialist equipment and join a guaranteed interview scheme at the end of their course. The Screwfix Trade Skills Centre will see the students benefit from a dedicated space, specifically designed to meet the needs of the future tradespeople training there.
