Staines-Upon-Thames-based charity receives £5000 grant from the Screwfix Foundation

Access Adventures, based in Staines-Upon-Thames, Surrey, is celebrating after receiving £5000 worth of funding from The Screwfix Foundation, the charity which supports not-for-profit organisations in need across the UK to fix, repair, maintain and improve properties and facilities.

Access Adventures delivers life-changing adaptive sports and activities designed to build self-confidence for people with disabilities.

Tim Farr, co-founder of Access Adventure, comments: “We are thrilled with the generous support from the Screwfix Foundation. As an outdoor adventure charity for people with disabilities our bathrooms are in constant use. The funding has allowed us to transform our bathrooms and facilities creating more space and improving our beneficiaries’ experience.”

Claire Flory, The Screwfix Foundation Manager, says: “What Access Adventures does is vital for the local community. The much-needed funding used to update the bathrooms and changing rooms will allow more space for people with disabilities to get changed and shower before and after taking part in activities.  We are delighted to see that our donation has gone towards such an important project, for the benefit of those in need”.

Set up in 2013 after recognising the need to give back, The Screwfix Foundation has donated over £11m for good causes and helped over 2,400 local registered charities and not for profit organisations across the UK.

Charities and not for profit organisations with relevant projects are invited to apply online for a share of the funding at screwfixfoundation.com.
